What should I be looking for​​ when I am picking a Team?
  1. Are they dressed in traditional outfits or just T-shirts and joggers?
  2. Are they frequently updating equipment? 
  3. Do they have a full complement of instruments including Drum, Gong and Cymbals? To miss any one of these instruments in a performance is not traditionally correct.
  4. Are they frequently training Lion & Dragon Dance or is it only a once a year thing?
  5. Ask to have a preview of their team before hiring them. This way you are able to see their equipment and dancing style first hand. If they are hesitant this may be a warning sign. (Keep in mind there may or may not be a viewing fee.)
  6. Do they have videos of their Team? If so do they fulfil the above requirements?
  7. Are they playing Authentic Lion Dance Music?
    Remember Chinese Martial Arts is synonymous with Chinese Lion Dance however do not base your findings purely on their Martial Arts capabilities as it has only a little to do with the Lion Dance performance itself. Instead inquire more about their lion dance history and portfolio.
